OZONE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS.

On occasion, a mineral build-up may clog the ozone injector, causing a lack of flow, or low flow of ozone bubbles. To prevent this, refer to the
following instructions to clean the injector: Also, please check to see if you are using Stain and Scale once a week, 1 to 3oz. each time every week. This will help prevent this build up here and in your punps and heater.

1. Check to see if bubbles are coming out of the return grate at the bottom of the spa. If your not getting any bubbles then start at #15.
2. Access the equipment compartment.
3. Locate the ozonator in the equipment compartment and unplug the ozonator from the control box.
4. Place 16 ounces of white vinegar into a container such as a cup or bucket. Place the container on the equipment compartment floor. NOTE:
White vinegar will not damage any of the spa components.
5. Carefully loosen the long Tygon/Kynar tubing to the bottom of the ozonator.
A liquid substance may be found inside the tubing.
6. Place the end of the tubing into the vinegar, making certain that the end of the tubing sits at the bottom of the container.
7. Reconnect power to the spa.
8. Run the spa until all 16 ounces of the vinegar are gone. This should allow an ample flow of vinegar to be run through the injector and clear the
blockage. If the vinegar does not get drawn through the tube, proceed to #15.
9. Disconnect power to the spa.
10. Remove the empty cup or bucket.
11. Reinstall the tubing to the bottom of the ozonator.
12. Plug the ozonator into the control box.
13. Close the equipment compartment door.
14. Reconnect power to the spa.
15. If the vinegar did not get drawn up the tubing then you have either a clogged injector or check valve. The easiest way to clear this is to remove the hose from the injector ( Black plastic spliced into the clear 1/2 " tubing ) and poke a small pin into the valve...if it works you will see bubbles start to appear instantly. If not then you may need to poke it some more, or, you may have to remove it and soak it in C.L.R.
16. Once you have bubbles coming through with the Injector, you can hook the hose back up and see if your getting bubbles still. If so go back to step one and start the cleaning process. If no bubbles, then go to next step.
17. If you have no bubbles then you should keep the hose attached to the injector and remove the hose from the other side of the check valve. If you don't get bubbles then you must soak or replace the check valve.
18. If you have bubbles after cleaning the check valve then connect it all back together again and see if the bubbles are still flowing. If they are go back to step 1 and start the cleaning process, if you do not have bubbles flowing then...
19. On the actual Fresh Water III generator there is 3 things sticking out of the bottom. One is you power chord, one is the hose, and the other is a filter. Remove this filter and then check to see if there are bubbles. If so, then clean the filter and put it back or you may choose to just leave this off. If this doesn't work then you can try starting at #17 again, or you might want to buy an new Ozone system. Or you can just disconnect it and use the Chlorine instructions to keep your spa water fresh and clean. These instructions can be found under chemicals, here on our site.
