1. Disconnect the spa from the power supply by the appropriate method:
- 115 Volt---Disconnect the power cord from the house receptacle, coil it and place it into the equipment compartment.
- 230 Volt---Trip both of the GFCI breakers located in the subpanel.
2. Remove the screws from the equipment access door; remove the door completely.
3. Locate the main drain valve and remove the drain cap. Attach a garden hose to the drain valve and route the outlet of the hose to an appropriate draining area.
4. Open the valve and the spa will drain by gravitational flow.
5. Remove the threaded cap from the secondary drain. The remaining water will drain from the bleedline system.
6. Remove the filter cartridge, then clean and store the cartridge in a dry place. Important: Wipe out any residual water from the inside of the spa and filter compartment.
7. Using a shop vac, suck out all water from drains. Leave against drain for several minutes. Then starting at the top and winding your way down to the lowest point, suck out each individual jet face. Do this for a minute on each one. Finally, unscrew the bottom drain screen cover inside the spa. Place vacuum over the hole and allow it to suck up the remaining water for several minutes. For Moto-massage, unscrew the face plate and unscrew the moto-massage jet and suck water out of compartment and the jet hole.
8. Close the cover. If your spa has a vinyl cover, cover it with a large board to help evenly distribute snow and ice.
9. Leave the main drain valve open about turn during winter months.
10. Important: To completely drain the internal plumbing, a wet/dry shop vac should be used to draw any remaining water through the drain and through each jet. If this isn't done you may have freezing damage to your spa.
11. We also recommend wrapping the spa and cover together with a pallet wrap or shrink wrap.
